Infamous Simpsons Episodes

So, I decided to make a collection of episodes of The Simpsons that people consider "infamous" or an "animated atrocity" because I'm kind of bored right now. And also because I'm starting to binge watch South Park again, while trying to move away from obsessing over The Simpsons (and Waylon Smithers, of course). Yeah, I kind of stretched myself too thin with getting all anxious over the newer episodes.

Well yeah, The Simpsons, after all, has been considered by people and many fans as a "franchise zombie" or a "cash cow" for a very long time now. Anywhere from like season 9 to about season 13. So yeah...

Without further ado... I will try to list all the episodes of The Simpsons that are either considered "bad" or "infamous". Either by me, fans and former fans of the show, or just by anyone who didn't like the episode in particular. All right. Here we go:



1. Lisa Goes Gaga (I hate this one)
2. Trash of the Titans (I dislike this one)
3. That 90's Show (Never watched it)
4. Homer vs. Dignity (I slightly dislike this one)
5. At Long Last Leave (It was mediocre)
6. Kamp Krustier (It was okay)
7. Mountain of Madness (It was decent)
8. The Principal and the Pauper (I really hate this one)
9. Miracle on Evergreen Terrace (I dislike this one)
10. The Caper Chase (It was mediocre)
11. Every Man's Dream (I dislike this one)
12. Bart vs. Thanksgiving (It was okay)
13. Homer's Odyssey (It was okay)
14. Regarding Margie (It was okay)
15. Lisa the Simpson (I don't like nor hate this episode, but I wouldn't watch it again and again)
16. Kill the Alligator and Run (It would've been okay if not for the lackluster ending)
17. Saddlesore Galactica (It was pure unadulterated nonsense, and not an episode I'd watch again)
18. Bart-Mangled Banner (Basically a much worse version of Kill the Alligator and Run)
19. Homer's Enemy (I absolutely hated this one)
20. My Sister, My Sitter (I dislike this one)
21. Marge and Homer Turn a Couple Play (This one was way too boring too me)
22. Homer Simpson, This Isn't Your Wife (Another episode that was just a snoozefest)
23. Eight Misbehavin' (One of the most mean-spirited and unnecessary episodes of the show)
24. Days of Wine and D'ohses (An episode that tried character development for Barney, but in the worst way possible)
25. Worst Episode Ever (The title says it all for some people, but to me, it's just okay)
26. Moe Goes From Rags to Riches (I really hated this one)
27. It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad Marge (Another episode with a lackluster ending)
28. Bart to the Future (It was all right)
29. Missionary Impossible (It was okay)
30. Alone Again, Natura-Diddly (One of the most shocking and disliked episodes of The Simpsons. I hate it, too)
31. Homer and Ned's Hail Mary Pass (It was mediocre with some funny gags)
32. Marge in Chains (It was okay)
33. Secrets of a Successful Marriage (It was okay)
34. So It's Come to This: A Simpsons Clip Show (Filler)
35. Another Simpsons Clip Show (Filler)
36. Gump Roast (Filler)
37. All Singing, All Dancing (Filler)
38. The Frying Game (One of my first truly disliked episodes of the series)
39. The Simpsons 138th Episode Spectacular (Filler)
40. Behind the Laughter (Filler)
41. Kill Gil: Vols. I & II (An okay episode)
42. The Boys of Bummer (I dislike this episode)
43. To Courier, With Love (This episode was another boring and lackluster episode)
44. The Trouble With Trillions (I thought this episode was all right)
45. Fear of Flying (A weaker episode that was let down by the ending)
46. The Simpsons Spin-Off Showcase (Some people consider this episode a filler entry, but I personally think it's okay)
47. The Man Who Came to Be Dinner (A more recent Simpsons episode that is considered to be filler. To me, it was just okay)
48. Lisa the Vegetarian (An episode where Lisa actually gets character development. It was an okay episode)
49. She of Little Faith (Another episode where Lisa gets character development. Another okay episode)
50. E-I-E-I-D'oh (An okay episode)
51. Brother's Little Helper (An okay episode)
52. Blame it on Lisa (Again, it was okay)
53. Tales from the Public Domain (Okay episode)
54. Marge-ical History Tour (Okay episode)
55. Simpsons Bible Stories (Okay episode)
56. Four Great Women and a Manicure (Okay episode)
57. Revenge is a Dish Best Served Three Times (Okay episode)
58. The Fool Monty (For the 100th time, an okay episode)
59. The Fight Before Christmas (Never seen it)
60. Donnie Fatso (Never seen it)
61. The Blue and the Gray (Never seen it)
62. The Color Yellow (An okay episode)
63. Love is a Many-Strangled Thing (An okay episode)
64. Love, Springfieldian Style (I really liked this episode)
65. Eternal Moonshine of the Simpson Mind (It was okay)
66. Pranks and Greens (I remember this one being okay)
67. Thirty Minutes Over Tokyo (It was okay)
68. Bart vs. Australia (I kind of liked this one)
69. Bart Stops to Smell the Roosevelts (I slightly enjoyed this one)
70. The Burns Cage (Some fans say it was a letdown, I personally liked this one)
71. The Old Man and Lisa (It was an okay episode. But I assume quite a few fans of the show hate this episode)
72. Trilogy of Error (Well, they tried, kind of. But I still wasn't too fond of Homer's story, nor were most fans, I assume)
73. Helter Shelter (Coincidentally, this episode shares the title with a Powerpuff Girls episode. It's just okay to me)
74. A Tale of Two Springfields (Yeah, this was a weaker episode, but it wasn't weak enough for me to call it "bad")
75. Love is in the N2-O2-Ar-CO2-Ne-He-CH4 (Yeah, I didn't care for this one too much either. It was somewhat mediocre)


All-in-all, what generally makes an episode of The Simpsons "bad" or "abysmal" is the lackluster or unadulterated nonsense story elements in the plots. A good chunk of these episodes seem to have a bad or lackluster ending. Again, this list was solely evaluated from my opinion, and what I think other fans consider to be a "bad" or "abysmal" episode.
